JAMB Releases Original 2024 UTME Results: Candidates Advised on Secure Printing

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the original results for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). A statement issued by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, emphasizes the board's caution to candidates to print their results only at accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres. This directive is aimed at ensuring the authenticity and security of the results, which now feature candidates' photographs and advanced security measures designed to prevent any tampering or falsification.

The introduction of these stringent measures is reflective of JAMB's commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process. Candidates who attempt to print their result slips from non-accredited cybercafes or other internet-enabled platforms may be exposing themselves to fraudulent activities, says the board’s statement. The original result slips not only serve as a secure and verifiable record of the scores achieved by the candidates, but they also help in preventing common scams, such as the manipulation or inflation of scores by unscrupulous elements looking to exploit the examination system.

According to the statement, all candidates who participated in the 2024 UTME are strongly advised to adhere strictly to these directives. The original result slips, which can be printed at the accredited centres, were designed to include significant security features. These include not just the candidate’s photograph but other anti-fraud elements that make it virtually impossible for the results to be altered without detection. This move is part of JAMB’s broader strategy to enhance the credibility of its examination processes and protect the interests of genuine candidates against fraudulent practices.

Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson for JAMB, stated that candidates have ongoing access to previously released scores via the board's shortcodes. However, obtaining the original printed result is crucial for official purposes and verifications. Mr. Benjamin also underscored the importance of candidates following the approved processes and channels for result printing to ensure they do not fall victim to scams.
