FILM MAKING IS A CHANCE TO LIVE MANY LIFE TIMES – Robert Altman.

When one thinks of filming in South Africa, Cape Town is the destination that immediately comes to mind, and thus Johannesburg and Natal are too often overlooked. Here in Johannesburg is where the globally recognized South African Directors shoot their International award winning campaigns, Johannesburg has the added advantage of being the most cost effective city to film in, less rules, less permits and much much cheaper. Here in the shooting capital of Africa, the crew work a standard 12 hour day, cast are always willing to talk a deal, the gear and facilities are always on packages and municipal permits are extensive and singular allowing for 1 permit per shoot.

Johannesburg’s positioning makes it ideal for filming in summer and winter, by not only being South Africa’s economic hub but also the largest cosmopolitan city in sub-Saharan Africa. Matched by its world class architecture featuring old style historical European buildings. Blending the old with more modern and contemporary styles, you could literally be anywhere in the world. As an added bonus the climate ensures we have green fields and parks all year round

A gateway to several South African provinces that within a drive’s reach boasts a variety of landscapes ranging from tropics, forests, seas, oceans, beaches and desserts. Johannesburg is only a 1 hour flight from Durban and a 2 hour flight from Cape Town and its surrounds.
